About SHIV
Shiv has been leading the way, training new prosecutors working to make our community safer. Now Shiv must lead the way and set a
new standard to bring justice for the victims of crime in Hall and Dawson Counties.

Shiv received his undergraduate as well as law degree from the University of Georgia. Shiv has been a prosecutor since the start of his legal career. While at law school, Shiv interned with the District Attorney’s Office in Athens, Georgia and was also enrolled in the law school prosecutorial clinic program. Shiv received the honor of being awarded the Outstanding Prosecutorial Clinic student for 2006 given to the top law student in the prosecutorial clinic. This award was based on Shiv’s performance in the DA’s office as well as his performance in the classroom.
After graduating from law school in 2006, Shiv served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit in Georgia. In 2008, he joined the Northeastern Judicial Circuit consisting of Hall and Dawson counties. For 18 years, from 2008 to 2026, Shiv served as Assistant District Attorney in this circuit until stepping down to run for District Attorney. He has prosecuted thousands of cases, including being lead prosecutor in numerous jury trials for major felony cases involving murder, armed robbery, child molestation, child cruelty, drug trafficking, child sex trafficking, gangs, and several other serious crimes.
Shiv has served as a Team Lead and Senior Assistant District Attorney, leading a prosecution team assigned to the courtroom of former Chief Superior Court Judge, the Honorable Kathlene Gosselin, as well as leading a prosecution team assigned to the courtroom of current Chief Superior Court Judge, the Honorable Jason Deal. Shiv has supervised and mentored numerous prosecutors in the past two decades.
Shiv has also led and managed the internship program at the Northeastern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office. Over the years, Shiv has supervised and mentored law students from law schools all across Georgia, including the University of Georgia, Emory, Georgia State, Mercer, and John Marshall, as well as law student from other states.
Shiv and his wife, Danielle, a professor at the University of North Georgia, make their home in north Georgia.
